Martin Macaulay - Senior Pastor


Martin has been a pastor in the Presbyterian Church since 1992 and senior pastor at East Taieri since 2008.  After working as a chemical engineer, he followed a sense of call to train for ministry.  He has an honours degree in theology through Laidlaw College, Auckland and a Doctor of Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary, California.  He enjoys movies, good food, running, keeping his C1 squash grading, and time in the mountains and the bush.  Martin is grateful to be married to Sue who is a doctor and tutors at the medical school.  They have three wonderful adult children.

Sebastian Murrihy - Associate Pastor 


Seb has been part of East Taieri Church since 2014. He thoroughly enjoyed his time studying at Laidlaw College achieving a Bachelor and a Master’s degree in theology. Seb thinks he can still run around a soccer field and enjoys other outdoor activities like rock climbing and tramping. Seb and his wife, Jess, have a young family and enjoy seeing how they participate in the life and ministry of the church. Originally from the North Island, they've enjoyed getting to know the beautiful landscape and amazing people of the South.

Joy 800  

Joy Davis - Community Facilitator


Joy has been part of East Taieri Church since 2000. In 2006 she took up the opportunity to study though Carey Baptist College gaining a Bachelor in Applied Theology. Upon graduation, (2010), she joined the East Taieri Team. Joy is passionate about helping build connections within the wider community, be it on an individual, group or agency level. When she is not doing that you may find her taking in a local show, at the movies, or catching up with family and friends.  Her daughter lives in Edinburgh, her son and his family in Invercargill.  Joy has two small granddaughters to keep her entertained and very busy!

Pam Grant - Pastoral Assistant


Pam has been greeting new people and caring for people as part of the ministry team since 2005. Pam is married to Gordon and has four grown up children and three precious grandchildren.  In her spare time Pam loves spend time in her garden and look after her friends and family, especially those grandbabies.

Caleb 800  

Caleb Griffith - Youth Worker


Caleb has a passion for youth ministry and discipleship, and has been working with youth since 2010. He loves hunting and the outdoors as well as most competitive sports. The majority of his time is spent drinking coffee and hanging out with the youth, but on free nights and the weekends he spends them with his lovely wife Jocelyn and their cute dog Indie. North Carolina was his home before he met Jocelyn and now Dunedin is home for them while they adjust to becoming parents in September!

Carl Aarsen - Youth Worker

Carl is one of our part-time youth workers. As well as running 3 youth programmes Carl is also studying full time at Otago University AND still manages to fit in some fishing and movie watching in his free time.

Jess Murrihy - Youth Worker


Jess is enthusiastic about working with young people and is part of the Youth Team. She is married to Sebastian and has a one year old boy called Elias with another one on the way. Jess trained and worked as a primary school teacher, but has always had a passion to work with young people. She enjoys playing soccer, dancing, fitness, creative writing, and loves a good competition!

Leeanne McKinlay - Parish Manager


Leeanne is responsible for the practical day-to-day running of the church. She is married to Chris and they have three sons, Sam, Ben and Ethan. Leeanne loves being creative and enjoys planning events, walking, reading and going out for meals.

Jo Thorn - Office Administrator


Jo started working in the office in 2015. According to her delightful children, Jorja and Asher, chatting is what she loves to do most but Jo also enjoys exploring, travelling and eating out with her family. Jo and her husband Justin, have a fantastic view of the city from their home and seem to always have a project on the go!

Louise Jamieson - Finance Assistant


Louise moved down from the North Island 17 years ago and has been part time at East Taieri since 2011.  Working with figures has always been something she enjoys doing and loves the challenges of balancing the books. Juggling 2 part time jobs, only 1 child left at High School and 3 adult children living out of town, she enjoys gardening, scrapbooking, reading, movies, early morning walks, catch ups over a cuppa and the occasional 1000 piece jigsaw in her spare time. It's always very special when she can catch up with her children or see her family up North.

Heather Moore - Fresh Expressions Children and Families Worker


Heather grew up in the San Francisco Bay area and moved to Dunedin to study at the University of Otago. She is excited to join the East Taieri Church community this year as the Fresh Expressions Children and Families Worker. Heather enjoys meeting new people and most of all loves spending time with her adorable dog.

Nathanel 800  

Nathanael Stock - Youth Intern


Nathanael is in his second year as a youth intern here at East Taieri. He is studying towards a three year Bachelor of Theology course at Otago University. Nathanael will be spending most of his time between these two places. Should he find time for his hobbies, Nathanael may be found reading a book, watching a movie with some mates or attempting the occasional painting.
