East Taieri Church cares for all people, because all people matter to God. Pastoral care is about providing care and support. This takes shape in many different ways: funerals, hospital visitation, prayer, giving meals, having someone to talk to, etc. East Taieri Church is passionate about making sure people are well-cared for and supported through the different stages of life right from birth to old age.

We take a ‘team-approach’ to pastoral care which involves three key groups. 1) We encourage all people to realise they are part of caring for one another. Caring for someone else may involve preparing a meal or saying a short prayer or simply being an ear to listen to someone else. 2) We challenge our small groups to actively care for others in their group. 3) We have a pastoral care team that visits and works alongside people during difficult times and situations.

If you need someone to talk to or would like to serve more actively in this area of pastoral care, then please feel free to contact our Associate Pastor, Sebastian Murrihy at sebastian@etchurch.co.nz or (03) 489 6308 EXT 720
