Baptism
Have you come to the point of trusting Jesus but not been baptised? Did you know it was a thing?
Baptism part of our response to Jesus. It is a significant moment of saying, “I believe in Jesus and I have chosen to follow Him”. Jesus said there is rejoicing in heaven when one sinner repents, and baptism, and the acknowledgment of this new life, is a celebration for the church as well.
It is a big moment for the person being baptised. There is something about publicly acknowledging Jesus, but the Bible also talks about us being united with Jesus, dying with Him to the old life and rising to a new life, being cleansed, receiving the Holy Spirit, and becoming part of the church.
If you are ready to take that step, or you are not sure and would like to talk about it, please contact Gareth or Peter or Jo in the office.
There will be other opportunities, but baptism fits nicely with our Mission Membership Sunday on 13 September.
Week of Prayer
The Elders are calling a week of prayer beginning on Monday 7th September.
There will be prayer meetings weeknights at 7pm in the vestry. Everyone is welcome! If you are unable to make it, we encourage you to pray from home with us.
Initially, the elders proposed concerted prayer for our search for a new Senior Pastor, but 6-13 September is the week prior to our AGM and two weeks prior to our engagement with City To City. We want to bring every aspect of our church before God – leadership in the future, being better at making disciples, our building project, our ministries to children and youth, everything. We crave God’s guidance and help.
Coincidentally, 6-13 September is also the Global Week of Prayer. Let’s join with Christians around the world.
Mission Fellowship Meeting
will be held on Tuesday 8th September at 2pm in Oak Lounge.
Associate Pastor Gareth Bruce will lead us in some singing, with emphasis on ‘Scripture in Song’ era and his favourites accompanied on guitar.

Turning Point Counselling (Professional and Affordable Counselling)
Turning Point offers Counselling and Psychotherapy, Supervision, Spritual Direction, Mental Health Education and is available for adults, children, youth, couples and groups. Notices to be shared at the 10am Service:
If you would like to share an event or notice at the 10am service it will need to be scheduled into the service planner 2 weeks in advance and will happen only if the space is available – this is to prevent our morning service from going too far over time. Please get in touch with the office to check for spaces in the planner.
Prayer Points:
o Pray for wisdom and clear judgment for the Saddle Hill Foundation Trust panel as they interview candidates over the next week. Ask God to guide their choices so they select the right person, with the right skills and heart for our youth and community work next year.
o Thank God for a great, encouraging Holy Spirit day at Alpha last Saturday. Pray that those who attended keep building on what they experienced, staying connected and growing deeper in their faith.
o Pray that we hear God’s direction clearly as we prepare for next week’s AGM and the upcoming visit from City to City. Ask for wisdom, unity, and sharp focus as we map out the future of our church and ministry.
