City To City. We Need Your Feedback Please!
We have asked City To City Australia to engage with us over the period of 17-20 September. We want them to help us see what we might not see ourselves, to assess our strengths and weaknesses and to help us move ahead. We are not asking because we think we are in trouble; we are asking because we want to be as effective as we can.
To help them gain an insight into where we are at we need your feedback, please. It would be great if we could get feedback from almost everybody in our church. Are you willing to help? It is completely anonymous.
We would love you please to either fill in a printed copy of the survey and put it in the box in the foyer, or go to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CSeasttaeri and do it online. They aim for a minimum of 70% of us responding…surely we can do better than that!

Have a go at some really useful AI.
Peter is going to run another session introducing Gemini Notebook. This AI tool is great for anyone who wants to research or learn anything. Do you have an interest that you would like to understand better or maybe teach to others better? Quantum physic? The solar system? Japanese cooking? The teachings of Jesus? How to lead a small group? Gemini Notebook is quite amazing and it is free and safe. If you would like to know more, please let Peter know (peter@etchurch.co.nz) and come along at 8:30 a.m. on Monday 17th August. We will finish before 10:00 a.m. If you can, please bring a laptop and a topic that interests you. If you cannot, no problem.

Building Fundraising:
East Taieri Church Cookbook – We’re Collecting Recipes!
We’re excited to announce that we’re creating an East Taieri Church Cookbook as a fundraiser for our church building project, and we’d love your help!
We’re looking for your best, favourite, and most-requested recipes—the dishes that family and friends always ask you to make again. Whether it’s a treasured family recipe, a tried-and-true weeknight meal, a delicious baking favourite, or a special dish for celebrations, we’d love to include it.
To help us create a cookbook that’s easy to use and enjoyable for everyone, please make sure your recipe includes:
• Recipe name
• Your name
• A brief description of the recipe and why it’s special to you (for example, a family tradition, a favourite for entertaining, or a recipe that’s been passed down through generations)
• A clear, easy-to-follow ingredients list
• Detailed method/instructions
• Preparation time
• Cooking time
• Number of serves
• Any helpful tips or variations you’d like to share
The clearer and more detailed your recipe is, the easier it will be for others to recreate and enjoy!
Recipe submissions are now open! We’d love to receive your recipes over the coming weeks. Please send them to etchurchcookbook@gmail.com by the end of August
Update on the East Taieri Christmas Shop – Building Fundraising
We have some exciting news! We have been allocated a stall at the Edgar Centre Christmas Market on Sunday, 22 November, starting at 9:00 am, with set-up taking place the evening before.
This is truly an answer to prayer. All we need to do is turn up with our crafts and sell them—the organisers will take care of all the advertising and promotion.
That gives us four months to prepare for an eight-hour market, so now is the time to get crafting! If you haven’t already started making items, please begin as soon as you can.
This is a wonderful opportunity, and it will take the whole parish working together to make it a success. Every handmade item, no matter how big or small, will help us create a fantastic stall and support the East Taieri Christmas Shop.
Turning Point Counselling (Professional and Affordable Counselling)

Each session is private and is around 50-55 minutes long. Brochures are available in the office foyer or go to the website: https://etchurch.co.nz/turning-point-counselling/
The Molly Burns Trust provides financial assistance in meeting the cost of education and cultural activities directly relating to ET Church and its members. To have your application considered pick up an application from the Office.
Notices for the E-news:
If you have a notice to be included in the weekly e-news, please ensure that the office has received it by 5pm on Wednesday.
Email office@etchurch.co.nz
Notices to be shared at the 10am Service:
If you would like to share an event or notice at the 10am service it will need to be scheduled into the service planner 2 weeks in advance and will happen only if the space is available – this is to prevent our morning service from going too far over time. Please get in touch with the office to check for spaces in the planner.
Prayer Points:
Pray for the Ground Zero leadership program run by SHFT for Year 7 students. Reaching out to mainly non-churched youth to build relational and leadership skills, this program aims to deliver encouragement and confidence. Pray for Miciah and his team as they lead in this space.
Pray for our staff team as they prepare for the upcoming AGM. Pray that reports and other preparations come together easily and on time. Pray that the pressures of deadlines won’t bring unnecessary stress or anxiety.
Pray for the Kid’s Church and L.I.F.E. intermediate programs and their great teams. Praise God for the excellent input that is being prepared and presented to our children and the hard work that leaders put into these things each week. Pray that the lessons presented will find rest I good soil for each of the children who attend.
Pray for the Orchard family in Mt Hagen, Papua New Guinea and for all the work that MAF do in PNG
